Just picked up a 4th gen G19 Previous owner installed 3.5 lb trigger connector.  Is this a good thing?  Can someone explain to me what it does?

Its not a bad thing. I prefer the 3.5lb connector in glocks myself. It does seem to me at least to not provide as positive of a reset.

I tried a Ghost 3.5lb drop in, in my Gen. 4 22 and the trigger reset was pretty shitty.  Needless to say they work better in the Gen.2 and Gen.3 models pretty well.  Glockmeister sells a kit for the Gen.4 that are a drop in and I hear they work pretty well.

The 3.5lb connector will give you a lighter trigger pull as well as a shorter/crisper reset.

Most GEN 4 owners have been installing them because the new frames tend to pinch a little bit more than the gen 3 frames

I have a Glock (-) connector in mine and it makes a world of difference

The connector controls the weight if the final break.  The trigger spring controls the weight of the initial takeup (slack).  A lot of people prefer to install a heavier trigger spring and a lighter connector to mimic the feel of a double action revolver.

Problem is the bump on the trigger bar rubbing on the slide.

+1 for the Glock " - " marked connector.   I like them the best.
Next I want to try polishing, but I'm not sure where & how exactly.

I own a 17, 19, and 26. They all have factory internals and I dont plan on changing out to a 3.5lb. I like my stuff stock.

The stock weight is good enough for me, although id like to try someones glock that has that connector in it

for me, the 3.5 connector smooths out the trigger pull and increases my accuracy by at least 25%

Please bear in mind that a Glock "minus" connector does not reduce trigger pull to 3.5 pounds. I've put them in almost every Glock that I've owned and will continue to do so.

Here is the Infamous $.25 Trigger Job.
Be very careful. You have been warned.

In my Gen 4 G19 the darned 3.5 connectors INCREASE the distance of my reset and also push the reset and break point forward over the stock connector.

Im assuming this is not the correct way in which these things are supposed to operate?

That's weird. My Gen 2 with the 3.5 connector made the travel slightly less, and decreased the reset distance.

It could have something to do with your trigger not having much use overall being a newer gen4. It will get better the more you use it.

Unfortunately, its getting worse and im not sure why.  The more i dry fire and live fire, the stickier this trigger is getting.  The ghost 3.5 also has almost zero tactile reset now whereas my Glock factory - connector is functioning in "stages".  There are so many hitches in this trigger now its ridiculous.  Im starting to get a little frustrated as i dont know where to go with the gun now short of replacing everything and getting a Vanek trigger.

EDIT:  INTERESTING...broken spring cups creating drag in the system.  Dunno how the holy hell that happened but my trigger is smooth again.  Still, my observations with the 3.5 connectors still stand.

I also replace my trigger with a smooth Gen 3.

I have tried two, both Lone Wolf.

Both were shit. One of them was more like a 2lb connector, except every once in a while where it would turn into a 10lb connector.

The other one was lighter but vague, and it broke further back then the stock trigger.

I put the stock triggers back in both of my Glocks.

to me, the 3 1/2 is good for the range but too light for a carry weapon.

I like the 3.5 lb connector in combination with the New York 1 trigger spring....
