Since the tax return this year is much larger than I anticipated, and I need a handgun I can carry, I decided I'd find a G19. I missed a local guy selling a 4th Gen with Trijicon night sites for $450 by a little bit yesterday, but found another guy close to my AO selling a 3rd gen in great shape with a Galco small-of-the-back holster for $475. I don't think I'm going to use the holster so I'm going to throw it up on the EE soon, and use the proceeds for a few mags or a more desirable holster... I'm thinking a VersaMax II.
I wanted to ask... what are some good sources for magazines and such? |

I just installed a new browser about 5 minutes ago so I don't have my book marks. Off the top of my head;
Botach CDNN Lone Wolf distributers GlockTalk- careful here there are a lot more know-nothing blowhards than we have here. We have a few but you'll figure out who they are. Glockmeister Google The Unoficial Glock Armorers Manual- Kind of dated Watch Youtube videos Dryfire every day Don't use solvents except for in your barrel Don't overlube Keep your firing pin channel dry |

Thanks for the tips.
Luckily, I have a friend who is a certified Glock armorer. If I have any problems, he can surely help me out. I'm not sure if I'll do any mods, like a lighter trigger, but I may eventually want night sights. I am looking at the info pages and will check the springs and update them if needed. I'll also check the links for magazines. I know I saw some at an Academy locally a while back and the prices weren't bad. Around $15, IIRC. Also I'd expect any G19 mags will work. |
| other than night sights I urge people to NOT modify glocks. I see more glocks that work turn into malfunction machines with after market parts. The cardinal rule of guns and modifications-if it works leave it alone!. You go over to glocktalk and nearly every thread about a function problem usually starts with "my glock was functioning perfectly then I put a XXX part in there now it won't work" |

It was a while ago that I think I saw them... I have to swing by my bank tomorrow, and there's an Academy right behind the branch I'm going to go to, so I might hop in there and see if they have any. Otherwise, CDNN has the Korean mags - which I'd only use for range duty - and I've looked at a few places, and so far Midway is the lowest price at $21.xx, but they are out of stock. I'm not in a rush to get mags, but I will want 5-6 OEM mags total, and a few range mags would be nice. |

| Matthew, I see you are in Texas. I bought a new Glock 15 round magazine at a Reliant gun show for $20 out the door. If you are close to any gun shows, there is an older couple that sells magazines and grips; IIRC, they store them in banana cartons. The wife will usually deal for cash money. I believe they are from the Dallas area. |

Forgot to update, the seller was out of town and couldn't meet me Saturday, so he's meeting me today. I'm going to check at Academy tomorrow afternoon, since I'll be riding right by one.
I'm in Austin, and Reliant doesn't come here. We only get the SAXET shows, and I haven't been in years since they suck. |

And here she is: In pretty good shape. Needs a little cleaning, but in really good shape. http://i785.photobucket.com/albums/yy132/Defilade1310/Gun%20stuff/IMG_0951.jpg BTW, the serial number starts with HYL. I can't get to the thread on Glocktalk that everybody links to find the age. Anyone have an account that can check for me? HYL - G-19 - April 2006 Found here. Pretty good listing. |
