Howdy everyone I have a quick question regarding a cracked slide on a glock. Is this something that glock will fix under warranty? Or will they just replace the slide and charge you for the new parts and labor?

Its not my gun but someone I know and I have not see the gun first hand so I dont know the extent of the damage.

Thanks for your time.

If the frame is cracked why would they replace the slide?
I'm confused.
I have seen what looks like a cracked slide that is a machining imperfection.  It's common.

Glock will replace the frame and any other suspect parts absolutely free. You may need to bust their balls about sending you a shipping label though.

They will replace the frame free as long as you didnt do any modifications or alterations like I did with my G26 in filing light rails on it to accept my Viridian green laser & light.

Every time I've called Glock about a busted part, they have offered to replace it for free if I send it in.  There's really never been any discussion other than "Send it in and we'll send you a new one"

Sorry I meant to say the slide is cracked not the frame.

If you can get a look at the slide, see if the crack is on the bolt face inline with the extractor.  It's common to see a machine line there that can freak people out.  I'll see if I can find pictures tomorrow.

I can't find the information and pictures I was looking for.  I'll look again after work.

I couldn't find a picture of what I'm talking about so I took one of my 35.  This one is an extreme example and obviously not a crack.  I think one of mine has the same thing but it looks more like a crack.  I'm not saying this is the issue your friend has.  It's just something to look at.
