I recently traded for a like new G17, 3rd gen. The gun looks new, the finish is not worn at all on the top of the chamber block. I would guess that it has had less than 100 rounds fired through it.

Last Sunday I attempted to run a mag of Igman ball ammo through it. Out of 15 rounds I had 7 FTF. I changed mags and experienced the same problem. I have shot 4000+ rounds of this ammo through 3 different Glocks without a single issue.

I can't figure this one out. I do plan on swapping slides with one of my other G17s to see if I can't narrow down the problem.  I thought at first that a stronger recoil spring had been installed but it hadn't..

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Ty

It might just not like that ammo.

Try some other ammo and see if that's the issue.

Never heard of Igman ammo, but maybe it's underpowered, a lot of times you need to use full power ammo to break a gun in.

Just my thoughts, if that don't work send it back to Glock they will fix it.

Thanks for the input. I have never experienced this problem with any of the other Glocks I have fired (which is many) . I will run some 9X19 NATO through it this weekend and see if that helps before I start swapping parts.

Igman is a Serbian manufacturer that is on par with Prvi Partizan I would say. Decent ammo but I have not chronoed it.

Could be this gun has tighter tolerances or maybe there is a burr somewhere that needs to get worn in/off.

Different ammo is the easiest thing to try, if that don't work then it's time to look at different issues.
