My buddy just bought a g19 gen2 the S/n after the numbers has US the gun look like this AYZXXXUS.
can anyone tell me the whats the US for.

Yes, and AYZ indicates manufacture in August of '94.

The first decade or so of Glocks had the US. My memory is a little shaky but what I can remember is it was a compliance issue at the time.
