Thinking of buying a surefire flashlight to keep on me when I'm carrying. Seems like the G2 would do the job just fine even though it's their cheapest model. It seems to have the same 60 lumens / 60 min's output, same general size, and same features (thumb operated tailcap momentary switch) as the other half dozen flashlights in the lineup. Just want to make sure there isn't something I'm missing that the more expensive models can do that the G2 ($34) can't. Where / how (pocket, holster) do you carry the flashlight? Thanks |

I carried a G2 at all times for many many months. I would put it in a belt loop ontop of my belt. I really liked carring it horz. I stopped carring it due to me dropping it too much. There isn't a horz holster out there that could find. But to answer you the G2 is great and has done all I have wanted from it. |
G2 here too. Check out Brightflashlights in the Industry forum for good prices on Surefire stuff. Blackhawk makes a horizontal pouch with a full length flap designed for the 9P sized lights. Of course a G2 would fit inside, but a pouch that big might be a little excessive. |
| I carry the G2Z stuck in the top of my pocket. It goes generally everywhere I go. IT has proven most usefull in regular day to day tasks, as well as helping me to ID a potential threat. IT is a little more expensive but it has the shock bezel, which I need because I do drop it on a regular basis. |

I have and carry the Z2. I'm not really up to speed on the whole Surefire line, and perhaps the Executive models would have suited me better for day to day, but I'm not disappointed in my selection. FWIW, the G2 looks like it would serve me just as well for day to day... Reading in a bit more closely, I should have checked into the G2Z... Still I'm happy. (And once again I'm faced with the dilemma of wanting one of each) Sly |

All the Surefire 2 cell 60 lumen lights use the same bulb/reflector assembly. (except for the "Millenium" type lights) I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. They are my favorite SureFire type lights. I have a 6-R/P that has a KL3 LED bezel and "clickie" tailcap. M-3 Combat light. 10X M500A If I could only have one it would be the 6-R/P, old style 6v 60 lumen light. Get a high output lamp assembly, 120 lumen for 20 minutes, and a spare 60 lumen light assembly. Surefire sells batteries for $1.25. |
| Surefire 6P in a Rosen LS holster. Keeps it tight to the body, a little too tight sometimes as it bumps into the kidneys or lower ribs once in a while if you bend a certain way or bump into something. Very quick to get the light into action. I am currently looking for a good horizontal belt holster to use with this same light. I've seen some leather ones somewhere, but I can't remember where. I'm willing to try nylon too, I guess. |

The switch in my 6Z is broken, but I can't decide whether to send it back, or get a new G2. Decisions, decisions... ETA: I bought this light about 10 years ago, and it has seen HARD, daily use. Not meaning to deride the quality AT ALL. I've been very happy with it, until I couldn't get the thing to turn on, even after changing batteries. |

I carry a Surefire Aviator A2 in a custom Lou Alessi black Bullshark carrier. Lou was kind enough to make this for me after a ton of groveling and bitching. Then, due to the weird shape of the light, he sore he'd never make another. It's a snap belt loop. It goes with the shark skin belt, and holster. ![]() www.citlink.net/~lmiller/alessicarrierbig02.jpg Didn't think it would of been a good idea to ask for a cell phone carrier, wallet, and knife sheath as well. Some day though... -Steve |
| The E2D is 3.3 oz and the G2 is 3 oz. But it sure feels lighter possibly because of the smaller diameter handle? Not sure about the shock resistance of the bulb, i did accidentaly knock it off the counter onto the cement floor in the basement and she still worked. |
