Last year I got a cheapo belt from Cabela's that has been carrying my g19 in Mtac just fine. However, I have lost about 12 lbs and the belt no longer holds my paints up real well. I have been looking at belts and was going to go with a Galco belt from a local gun shop for 50 dollars. However I keep seeing beltman mentioned. Are his belts worth the 30 dollars more, plus shipping, if I hope to lose more weight. This belt will also double as a work belt, where I am not allowed to carry.

Thanks

I am pretty sure, that $50 Galco belt is the cheaper unlined version!
If so,a beltman and it, are not even in the same class.

I bought a Beltman belt a few years ago as my first gun belt, so I don't have anything to compare it to.

But when (if) I wear it out, I would gladly spend the money and buy another one from him. I'm actually thinking about getting another one in a different color.

Does it have to be leather? Wilderness belts are under $40.

It does have to be leather for work.

Well I don't believe you're going to find anyone that has a Beltman belt that will complain about it.

I think that says a lot right there.

I know crossbreed makes belts... Anyone have any experience with them?

My 1 1/2" Comp-Tac kydex reinforced, contour belt is much more comfortable than my Beltman belt and does a terrific job of providing support for the full size M&P .40 and horsehide Crossbreed Super Tuck that is my daily carry.

Comp-Tac has the perfect amount of contour to provide maximum comfort in a belt that is more than stiff enough to perform its purpose.

I don't have anything to compare it to, but I have one of these Comp-Tac belts also.  It's held up very well considering I really crank my belt down tight.  I carry AIWB so I have to keep it tight to my body.  I think I busted the kydex near the tip of the belt, but it doesn't sag.

The Kydex insert sewn into, and secured by continuous stitching to the inner lining of Comp-Tac contour belts usually begins about 9 inches from the tip on the side that has the holes (the kydex begins about 1 1/2 inch after the holes end) , and roughly 6 inches or so from the end of the side that has the buckle, so I doubt that you actually busted the Kydex.

Both end portions of the belt, while still consisting of two layers of leather, will become more flexible over time which is desirable since it makes the belt easier to put on and buckle without adversely affecting the stiffness where it's needed to support your handgun.

Your belt will not sag.

I would think that Galco belt you're looking at would be just fine.  They make great stuff.  Just make sure it's thick, and relatively stiff.

I use a Desantis belt, leather, 1.75 inch wide.  Works great for me, had it for years.  Got it at Bullseye, for around 50 bucks or so.

I just got my Comp Tac belt last week.  I have the 1.5" taper.  I was amazed at the quality and strength of the belt.  I have been carrying my G19 in a Crossbreed Supertuck with just a regular leather belt.  With the Comp Tac belt, there is no movement of the holster at all.  It stays firmly in place, well supported, and very comfortable.  The belt is built like a tank!  I am just glad my dad didn't have one of these when I was a little kid and acting up!!!  I highly recommend the Comp Tac.  I was very reluctant because of the cost, but after seeing and using the product, I am glad I purchased it.
