How do you guys carry these items? I tried a blackhawk mag holder for my P2000 spare mag but the damn thing sticks out real far and is blatantly obvious that something is there. Any suggestions? I am 5'10 ~145 lbs. I also was wondering how you carry a flashlight and if people had suggestions for a flashlight to carry.
Thanks |
| What kind of flashlight are you using? Currently my EDC in PA looks like this. iphone front left pocket, keys, gum, chaptick, lighter, spyderco q series front right pocket. wallet rear right. sog trident rear left. P2000 IWB in MTAC at 3:30-4 o'clock. I have enough shit in my front right pocket and was trying to avoid scratching my phone by putting stuff in my front left pocket. |

The Blackhawk mag holder does stick out a lot (I use the Glock brand mag pouch which is really low-profile). Even if thats all you have to use for now a rectangular shape under your shirt, even if someone notices it, is not something thats going to alert anyone. 99% of people that actually notice it are going to think 'cellphone' or 'PDA' instead of 'that guy is carrying a spare mag'.

I carry everything consistently except for a spare mag, which is hit and miss. I really need to find a good way to carry a spare mag, I have tried a few different mag holders and they all bug me. As for flashlights, if you can spend some decent money, Novatacs are as good as you can get (IMO). The light is small, fits in your pocket, has many levels of brightness, waterproof to 60+ feet, and is 120 lumens. Just as bulletproof if not more than a surefire.

I carry a flashlight (TK10) in either a cargo pocket, or coat pocket depending on my current attire.
As far as carrying a spare mag, I generally do not carry one unless concealment is a secondary concern. I keep a Tek-Lok Single Mag Pouch in my car for when my spidey senses are tingling and I want to strap it on. However, its not even close to being concealable nor very comfortable. I also have tried the IWB mag carrier from Crossbreed Holsters, and while it is good on concealment, its damn uncomfortable due to the kydex going to the very edge of the leather at the bottom. Thus, when you sit down, the kydex edge digs right into your hip/ass. I am still on the look out for a comfortable AND concealable mag carrier. |

i use a bianchi OWB flashlight carrier for my Surefire; have a glock mag carrier just behind it, OWB
of course, i simply put my T-shirt over it; a bulge is there, but everyone else just assumes its a (gasp!) flashlight, multitool, or cell phone if anyone ever asks about the light, i just tell em i fix computers |

I use a comp-tac since kydex mag holder on my left side belt, I untuck my shirt or wear a cover garment. ...In summer I'm always wearing untucked shirts, usually Hawaiian shirts; might not be styling but I am safe For a light what alphaghost does is good, but I just clip my Pentagon LED in a pocket t present. |

I use a raven concealment systems single mag holder with "pocket tabs" in my front left pocket and my flashlight rides around loose.
Pocket knife goes in front-right pocket along with keys. Blackberry goes in jacket pocket or front right pocket Gun in a raven concealment holster at 3:30-ish Wallet in back right pocket. Back left pocket is empty I don't use pocket clips as I like to be very low-pro when I CCW. It doesn't get much more low-pro than in your pocket. Though the Raven mag carriers can be worn IWB too if you get the right attachments. |
| I wear Woolrich pants and shorts with the extra cargo pocket. I keep a light and either one double stack or two single stack mags in the left side extra cargo pocket. It's shaped just right to keep everything oriented properly. When I work nights I move the mags to a pouch on my belt and add my second light where the mags were in the extra cargo pocket. |
