So I was at the range today, and then had a lot come up with no time to leave my piece anywhere safe.  So I open carried w/ my girlfriend all day.  I went 100% unbothered, and went to the grocery store, a pet store, a second hand store, and the most surprising, a check cashing store.
I always here horror stories about harassment and unjustified cop calls, but for my first open carry experience it was great.  I should note that NO stores had any signs prohibiting firearms.
Anyway, hardly worth a read, but thought I’d mention it for anyone reluctant to open carry in Arizona (phoenix).

Oh no you di'nt.

Shame on yous.

The Bad Guys are gonna target you first.

So after open carrying all day, it's still "just a gun", right?

Civil rights... use 'em or lose them.

AZ is great for that.

I open carry all the time.

Only place I get fewer looks is AK.

While I have open carried in Phoenix, I tend not to.  You will get looks in some parts of town.

I don't at all in Tucson, Sedona or Flagstaff.

Prescott/Payson, I almost always open carry.

Yeah.  And in my opinion, it does make for a politer (more polite?) society.  I don't talk shit when the other guy has a gun.

Are very many places posted there? Here, OC is legal, but most places, the mall, the home fix it store, ect, are posted.

Most malls have small signs saying no weapons.

I can go to most places without issue (home depot, ace, the bank, target, gamestop, etc etc etc).

I have only ever been challenged on open carry twice: once at a VERY high end mall that didn't have signs posted, and once at a Sportsman's Warehouse by an employee that didn't understand the corporate policy on weapons in the store.

I had a problem with one bank once.  Not the bank's policy, it was the new manager's problem. I moved my account.

Burlington Coat Factory asked me to leave (they had a tiny sign at ankle level) I told them ok, but I'm going to spend $700 at your competition, and went to Babies "R" Us instead.

And I got some odd looks at Checker Auto once, along with a guy who asked me why I needed such a "Big Gun".  I told him "mountain lions".  I had been up at the mining claim and was weiring my Dan Wesson .44 mag.
