I am in the market for a realllly small gun.  I have a 640 J frame and looking to go smaller and flatter.  Not a fan of the KelTech's at all.  I have read of a lot of trouble with the NAA Guardian's and also breakage of the Beretta kitty's.  Read the 22 Beretta has a service life of 5K rounds???  And no stingers or it will wear fast.  I may be looking at a NAA 22 mag, cannot think of many more options.  This will mainly be a vest or pocket gun.  Thinking of overalls mainly.  Ideas?

The correct answer is Keltec P3-AT, but if the Keltec isn't classy enough for you, then Rohrbaughwww.rohrbaughfirearms.com/
is the only real option remaining.

fwiw- The Beretta .22 will last way beyond 5000 rounds, but it isn't flat or concealable or particularly effective.

Never been a fan of mouse guns.Never been a fan of Keltec.Bought a P32 that now rides in my front pocket every where I go.The trigger sucks. The caliber sucks. But the damn thing goes bang everytime I pull the trigger.

Kahr PM9

The Kahr's seem a little to big.  Their 380 may be an option if it is smaller than the rest of their models.

you could go with the Ruger LCP

If it is your carry gun, do you need it to last more than 5000 rounds?

Probably not, but I don't expect the service life of any firearm to be 5K

Pocket guns. I looked at the NAA .22 and the thing was so small that there was no way that I could get a proper grip on it.

My solution was a two shot derringer made by Cobra Enterprises of Utah.  I bought it in .380.

My main CCW is a Kel-Tec P-11 which is 9mm. Having to deal with two types of ammo is just a pain so I called Cobra and ordered a 9mm barrel for the derringer.

After a little hand fitting the derringer now is chambered in 9mm.  I can now use the spare mag as back up ammo if I can only carry the derringer.

+1

There is not a gun that everyone will agree on, but I have a LCP and it functions flawlessly.  It has been 100% with 313 rounds through it.  Most of which was Federal Hydrashoks.

For concealed carry, I have a Glock 19, Glock 27, S&W 642, Kahr PM9 and a Ruger LCP.  I switch out all of them depending on the dress for the day, but no matter what, the LCP is in my front pocket.  I sometimes forget it is there.

I guess at this time I am leaning toward the Beretta, probbly in 32.  Either that or a Kahr and just see how it fits.  Unless my buddy comes up with the colt mustang or pony?  I want it, even though it might be larger than what I actually need, depending on which it is.  General idea that I try to keep in mind is, not everybody sees a slight bulge and thinks gun.  I know it, but I have to remind myself.

I was looking at these same guns last year.  I went with the P3AT.

I'm not sure what your reasons are for not wanting a keltec...  I got a keltec p3at about a year ago.  Like you I was skeptical at first, just b/c it was a keltec and inexpensive which I associated with cheap at first.  Then I came to realize all of these small autos have their good and bad reviews alike.

It does require a break in period, and clean and lube it up before you shoot it.  That being said, that goes for most small autos.  Kahr says in the manual to shoot 200 rnds for break in.  IMO the PM9 was just a little too big for pocket carry, which is what I wanted.

I looked at the beretta tomcat too and almost bought one.  I do really like them. The beretta is pretty heavy for the size.   Still haven't shot one yet...  Anyway, I decided on the p3at b/c of the weight and .380 over .32 cal.  .32 cal is harder to find and more expensive IMO.  The p3at weighs ~8oz, beretta is twice that weight.  The new Ruger LCP is very similar to the keltec, just smoother finish etc...  Very similar gun.

Good luck w/ your purchase!  The mouse gun is good to add to the collection.  Sometimes a snubby is too big for my pocket, and a mouse gun is better than throwing rocks!

After break in, I just keep the P3AT cleaned and lubed and it runs through the mag like a champ!

Have you looked at the Seecamp 380 (hard to find) or 32?  They have a very good reputation...

Haven't seen a Seecamp yet.  I looked at the LCP in person wed morning, and was even less impress after I picked it up.  Not totaly sure what it is that I don't like either.  The Beretta is heavy for it's size, as is the NAA also.  I am just going to hang on to the cash and look at the Kahr when it finally ships.

Didn't forget colt, just haven't ran into any in a long time.  Never touched a pocket nine, but the pocket lite 380's I would also like to have.  That or a mustang.
