Anyone have any tips with the C-tacs?  I was given one by my boss to evaluate.  The first thing I noticed is that the commander sized holster is a good inch too long for my 4" 1911 and was wondering if this was common.  Another thing is, how the hell do you get this thing on quickly? My VMII was a breeze to put on but this thing is a complete pain in the ass, also the back sides and edges rub me and i was thinking of using moleskin to solve this.

I have the C-TAC... Its a great holster, very comfortable, very concealable, and amazing to draw from.  Putting it on and off is a bit of a hastle though...takes about a minute.  so its not exactly quick on quick off.  but its a good quality holster none the less.

I couldn't help myself, I found the most comfortable position and then broke out the dremel.  I cut off the excess material and cut down one strut since it was the hanging up when I was putting it on and stuck into my hip.

I actually think my CTAC is easier to put on than my VMII.  I just slip the clips over the belt instead of threading the belt through the clips.  I agree though about some excess material.    There is a bit of extra kydex at the top that I'm thinking about trimming off since it pokes me in the side sometimes.

The holsters are usually a little longer, but not an whole inch longer than the barrel.

I find the CTAC quick to get on; quicker than my VMII. I cram the holster in my pants at 3:00 and attach the back clip first, then the front clip.

I wear mine at 3:00 which minimizes rubbing, but I've heard of people sticking mole skin on the back.
