| who makes a good "affordable" IWB holster for the Sigma 9. I usually carry SOB |
|
Define "affordable" Most people find affordable to mean buying a good quality holster the first time, so you don't end up spending several times more trying and discarding multiple holsters. The most recommended holsters for IWB seem to be: 1) Milt Sparks versamax II, 2) Comp-tac CTAC. The CTAC is cheaper and can be had asap, whereas the Milt Sparks will take a number of months to get once ordered (unless you go to one of the very few dealers who stock some, but charge more - which would defeat the affordability factor). |
+1 I have several "cheap" holsters and then i got a Comp-Tac CTAC. Worth every penny and I highly recommend it. |
+2 the cheap line that works (in a way) that i have used is uncle mike's... h/w, i dont carry SOB, nor would i recoomend these UM IWB holsters for it either unless it has a retension strap |
+3 When I first started carrying, I carried an all steel Gummint model 1911 in a nylon slip on Uncle Mikes holster. Think "soup sandwich" here, didn't work well at all. My carry guns have changed over the years, my holsters have changed, from nylon, to leather, to currently kydex. A quality holster and belt makes all the world's difference when carrying. I now use a Comp-Tac CTAC. |

i just recently bought this holster (link below) and have not had a minutes problem out of it... i have put it through a test of pulling and tugging from all directions and the pistol slides out with ease and the holster stays put. reholstering is a breeze also the mouth stays open very well. 27.00 cant beat that... http://www.donhume.com/Products/ProductsPage.cfm?ProductID=35 |

www.comp-tac.com/ I have the comp-tac "Slide" I have a Glock 27 for my CCW, a G 22 for duty, and a G 17, this one IWB holster allows me to carry any of these pistols. I have worn this holster for 20 hours at a time and like it a lot better than any of the IWB holsters that have the belt clip on the holster itself. This holster is thinner, but reholstering and retention is really good, anothe big plus is you can adust the canter for the comfort of carry. |

www.highnoonholsters.com had a ton of different IWBs that will meet your price point and is my main IWB company. I have a Mr Softy, Bare Assets and Split Decision and all work great. |
Unkle mikes makes a pretty good one and is about 13 bucks. I had a 30 some dollar desantis but haven't been happy with it. I ended up getting an unkle mikes and like it much better. It's made of noticeable cheaper material but for some reason seems to be more stable. I carry a compact 1911 in it also so there is some weight to it.

Carrying SOB is not a good idea. If you were to fall on your back you could and probabaly would seriously injury yourself. I have tried to find affordable holsters and now i have like many others here a box full of useless holster. Spend your money on a qualtiy holster once and yes it is expensive but you will save money in the long run |
