| Me! I carry a Kimber CDP II Ultra probably 99% of the time that I leave the house. The other 1% I'm either carrying a LCP, or I'm going to dinner and plan on having an adult beverage in which case I have a pocket knife and very well developed sense for survival. |

I carried a 45 for well over a decade. 1911 mafia. A few years ago I switched over to Glock 9mm. The weight and compactness is what made me change over. I don't care too much if it's 9mm or 45. If I was going to go 45 I'd go with the S&W Shield on 45. That thing is baller. |

In rotation is my SA 1911 for the last 30 years. I recently bought a Milt Sparks 55BN from Wilson. In my opinion it is the best holster for carrying a 1911. Attached File |
| I tend to be drawn to big pistols with big bullets. Living in a big city with more criminals working together. My choice has to start with my MEUSOC 1911 clone but has been generally replaced with either a Glock 20 or 21equiped with a TLR-1 HL always 2 spare magazines. |

I don't carry my .45acp 1911 Garrison daily, but I do carry it when I know I'm not going to be anywhere I need a higher capacity. I carry one of my M&P 2.0s in .40 S&W most days. I also carry a .380 acp Ruger LCP in my front pocket most days along with the other gun. Edited to add. My carry ammo for the 1911 is 230gr HST. For the .40s, it's 165gr Gold Dot, either store bought or hand loaded. For the LCP, it's the Hornady XTP 90gr. |

Daily. Newest find was NOS and 25 years old. Passed the 500 round break in and is now the main EDC. It’s a G19 sized hammer.

| Recently got a Smith M&P 2.0 .45 full size and added that to the carry rotation. Fantastic shooter and it fits all my M&P holsters. |

| I will carry a 1911 Commander size DW with an 8 round magazine, when I am feeling nostalgic. I was issued a 1911 Gov. 1911 in the U.S. Army and then transitioned to the M 9. But day to day I carry a CZ PCR Compact with 15 rd magazine, or a Sig 365 XL, or a FN 509 T. Like the post stated above says nobody who has been in a gunfight wants to have less ammunition. In today's world with criminals traveling in packs, I'm not sure a 9 round 1911 in 45 ACP makes any sense. I dont think a 10 round 9mm 1911 makes any sense either. I work with criminals every day and used to put them in handcuffs. Criminals steal or purchase handguns off the black market. They are usually high capacity. A 1911 could handicape you in a real gunfight. But always carry, and pay attention to your surroundings and a 1911 might be ok. |

Having it milled for an optic right now (torn between Holosun Comp with a green reticle & Trijicon SRO... Still need to pick one or the other, but it's getting an RMR/SRO cut/adapter so either will work), so a Kimber SS Ultra CDP II (Officer size) is it's temporary replacement. Love SS here in the Florida heat & humidity. Usually only carry one 7 rnd extra mag. Figure if I can't get the job done with 15 rounds of 230 gr JHP .45, it will at least be enough to fight my way to my 300 BO with two 30 rnd magazines. TBH, I feel somewhat nekkit without my "Lesbian" since it is my favorite carry piece. Was talking with a buddy who owns a few LB's about them once, and my wife partially overheard us and asked "*what* did you say about "Lesbians"? 🤣🤣🤣 thus the moniker. |
| Side comment. . If 9mm bullet performance has improved considerably, (and it has) how about the same improvements to 45? Mine is loaded with SIG 200 or 230 gr HPs that look like a flying ash tray.. if an 9mm HP opens up to a diameter equal to a 45, then a 45 should open to a .62 if not more. 5/8" to 3/4" should leave an exit hole the size of the Holland Tunnel.... |
