I am going to Ft Lauderdale for two weeks mid April. I currently have a CCW for Erie County in New York State. I have sent 4 emails to date to the Attorney Generals office requesting information regarding reciprocity, but no reply whatsoever.
Any Florida LEO's out there that may be able to provide any information? What would happen if informed you that I was carrying CCW and handed you a NYS CCW license during a traffic stop etc?

According to packing.org, NY does not share reciprocity with Florida or vice versa.

Your NY permit is not good in Florida, unfortunately.
However, FL law allows you to keep a loaded gun in the glove compartment or center console compartment.  You might want to take advantage of that.

very few states honor a NY permit, I think due to NY not honoring any other states' permits

Next time you are traveling and have a question, either go the packing.org or straight to the state's agency for firearms/ccw where you are heading.
You'll get the answer, PLUS you'll be able to print it out and have a copy on you just for good measure.

It won't do you any good for this trip, but if you think you'll be heading out of state again and wish to carry, get a Utah or Florida CCW.  They will cover you for quite a few states, and you can do Florida's from the comfort of your own home.
I'm not sure about Utah.

I know it's too late for your trip, but why don't you apply for aan out of state Florida Concealed Carry Permit. Then you will be good go more states than your current permit. It takes about 2 months. Been there done that!

They seem to be coming through in about four weeks right now - mine took 35 days a few months ago.
