Who here carries at work?  If so what's your setup?

I currently do at the moment, 4" XD in a Smart Carry Holster...it's comfortable but I'm not entirely comfortable with having to draw with it while sitting (which I do 90%) of the day.  It conceals the gun pretty well minus the grip but an untucked sweater or polo covers it well.

Dress code is pretty lax at work, Fall/Spring - Jeans and Polo (untucked), Winter Jeans and Sweaters and Summer Shorts and Polo (untucked).

Looking for a new gun/mode of carry.  My XD hides pretty well in a Galco Kingtuck, but I want to be as discrete as possible.  No one here knows I carry and I plan on keeping it that way unless SHTF.

Couple of small guns I've shot, Kahr CM9 and S&W 38 Snub.  Shot the Kahr pretty well was all over the map with the 38.  I'm not totally opposed to a .380 but was hoping I could make 9mm work as I already reload that.

Input anyone?

You now carry what I used to. I did not care if I printed and open is legal here so it was not an issue. I now am a situation where complete concealment is a must as to not scare the sheep. I am still legal to carry but a different situation. I went with the Kahr PM9 in a crossbreed supertuck and it is very easy to hide even in the summer with shorts and a t-shirt. I coach baseball and have warmed up the pitcher from behind the plate in front of a crowd and noone was wise to my carry. Im 5'10" and 190 if that helps.

eta: I can easily draw from a sitting position.

Got your next job lined up yet?

"No one here knows I carry and I plan on keeping it that way unless SHTF".....good luck with that career plan.

Best.

I work for an extremely small company, we don't have an employee handbook or any rules that I've agreed to.  The way I look at it is I can get fired for anything and no job is worth losing my life over sooooo that is my choice.  I know I'm not the only one who carries under the radar on this forum.

I go by it's better to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission.  I'm not breaking any laws so the worst thing is I'm out of a job.

My brother in law just picked up a Kahr P380 and he says it disappears in his pocket.  If I want to carry deep concealment, I carry a LCP in a crossbreed mini tuck.

I wear dress slacks at work and carry a Walther PPK .380 in a Desantis Nemesis.  I had a Smith and Wesson 642 and while it was lighter than the PPK, it was a bit larger in the pocket.  Both were great to carry though.

Yup, a LCP in a pocket is pretty damn hard to pass up, and it's dang near impossible for passerbys to notice.  If you're wanting 9mm, a PF-9 can be pocket-able in large pocketed pants.  Or, it's pretty dang easy to IWB as well.

Thanks for the input.

I will have to check out a LCP never shot one, I'm sure my range has a rental.  I held a LC9 when I was considering a super small 9 and didn't like how it felt in hand but we'll see.  The Kahr CM9 was surprising easy/fun to shoot.  PF-9 was considered as it felt okay in hand but they didn't have a rental, I'm kinda hesitant spending money on something I haven't at least put a mag through.

You're doing it just fine right now with the smartcarry.  Practice more to get better at the draw, but if you want something that damn near as conceallable with a 9mm double stack...

Check out this thread.

I have a relaxed dress code at work too. I carry a Glock 19 or 30 in a Comptac Minotaur every day. Their grips are only slightly shorter than the Xds.  I prefer a button down shirt untucked, because its less clingy than a polo. If the grip of the XD prints the smaller versions of the XD/XDm may be better for you. Carry your gun when you go clothes shopping.

My job sounds a lot like yours.
Same dress code.
Sitting all damn day.

I'm a very normal sized dude, 5'11 175 lbs.

I carry my kel tec pf-9 iwb at 3 o-clockish with the side clip.

I wear it under plain t-shirts with 100% confidence that no one can tell I have it.

I wear it like this all day, I don't even feel it.

Extra mag in my front left pocket.

It easier than you think.

smartcarry or 3Speed holster work great when the center stitch is removed and the holster is trimmed narrow.
I use this all the time in sweats and a t-shirt.
