Does anyone here carry a G19 with a G19 magazine in the gun and G17 mags as backup?

Or is it better just to have another G19 mag as the backup instead?

my concern is comfort and imprint of course.

Carry a G17 magazine as a reload for the G19 is a good idea.

I carry a G17 mag with an extension as a reload for my G17.

I wouldn't think a G17 mag in a carrier would print any worse than a G19 mag.

That is the way I carry... I don't like getting pinched on a quick reload. Love the pistol, but it got me at a couple of IDPA matches on quick reloads.

If you want to get fancy, someone makes a sleeve that will fill the difference on the mag body between the G17 & G19 to mate with the G19 grip.

17+17+15+1/chambered=50rds which is a full box in 3mags. It's more gooder!

I always carry a full size (G17 or G22) mag as a reload regardless of which size Glock I am carrying (sub compact, compact, full size, competition). Why would you NOT want the extra capacity?

I have a 17 mag in my 19 when wearing a loose shirt with another 17mag at the ready. And a 33 rounder or two in my vehicle :)

Like everyone said above, it's what I do. I have at least 5 regular G19 mags but all the rest are 17 mags that I keep in the car and on me for a spare, it doesn't print that much more than a G19 mag.

Now my 22 round Glock mag for my G23 does kinda print whether it's in the gun or in my mag pouch

Depends where I am going in the state. I carry couple 19 mags and one 33rds mag with me on travels. Oh, the 33rds is usually in the car.
