Title pretty much explains it.
I am pretty new to CC as well as my entire state so I haven't had the pleasure of sitting around a campfire shooting the shit about CC. I have had the pleasure to carry for almost a year now and just picked up a new protector of evil a few weeks ago. So, how do you guys carry jogging? I can open carry as well if it helps, and would really have no problem doing it where I live. It seems having a two pound gun tucked in the waistline of some stretch shorts isn't the best scenario to me, or just around the legs in general. I have done some searching, but thought I would get the arfcom opinion. If it helps, I am carrying a compact 1911. Please no fanny packs |
| I run with a stainless airweight (642) tucked in a belly band with the gun itself positioned in the same place I carry everything else, about 12:30 or just in front of my hip bone. I throw a t-shirt over it and it never shows. The top of the belly band is even with the top of my pants. I keep my license in a pocket, and a speed strip reload in the back of my belly band. Has worked great for me. |

He should be willing to make one that will work for your needs like he did mine. I run, golf, wrestle with the kids, snow ski, work on the truck, work on house projects, bicycle ride for miles, and ride dirt bikes in the CO mountains while carrying my M&P 9c in my customized 3speed holster. IMO, belly bands sit the gun too high and they have a lot of material which makes it hotter than needed. I've worn out two of them, so I have first hand experience with them, IWB's w/ gun belt, and customized smartcarry and 3Speed holsters. I also have first hand experience that the following works quite well too... holster / belt combo that works with running shorts... and any other type pants for that matter |

I may play around and see if I can modify the idea a bit for my needs. I like the idea of a belly-band type holster with less material, and that can be adjusted for tension as I've noticed my belly-band beginning to fall apart and it has never been particularly comfortable. |
| I've been using a G19 in a Kaluban Cloak with Comptac IWB clips. It keeps rubbing me raw in the spot where the barrel rests even with moving it around. Going OWB with a kydex holster made by member, goodmedicine. I run in the country so its not critical that its 100% concealed at all times. |

IWB, tucked.
I'm pretty out of shape, so I'm only jogging a little over a mile (followed by a two mile walk) in normal attire. Cargo pants and a polo shirt. No issues today with a cmdr-sized 1911 in a CompTac Spartan with a normal gun belt. If you're wearing athletic attire, a belly band (or similiar compression holster) may be the way to go. In my area, open carry is a really bad idea. |
