Hey Everyone,

I'm looking for a new belt. I'm looking for something of decent quality, but is on the less expensive side. I'd like to stay around $40 if possible. I'll be wearing this belt almost exclusively, so it'll need to look nice in jeans, cargo pants/shorts, slacks, etc.

Thanks

Aker B21 1.5" Belt

Worn mine daily with and without a gun for 5 years. Other than the finish, structurally it is like new. I am going to hit it with a coat of black dye soon and bring her back to life. Great belt, highly recommended.

Just a little more than $40, but not much. And well worth the difference.

Are they stiff enough to support the weight?

Mine is on the way.  Small company.  Great reviews.  The "Per-Sec" mod adds an accent band all the way around.

Did you read the reviews on the pages following? I would say they compare to most ANY other quality gun belt. I have belts that cost almost three times as much and are seemingly no better. I haven't used one long term. But out of the packaging it carries as well as any Beltman I have had. They are nice belts.

I've got a beltman that I've worn everyday 7 days a week for 3 years.  Great belt, but a few issues I've run into.

1-  Powder-coated buckles chip and look like shit after awhile.  I had to replace 2 before I got a chromed one that is much more durable.

2-  The black dye they use leeched onto my tan leather car seat and my seat is permanently screwed.  This one really blows.

3-  The belt has started to sag a little and I've got a 1.5" dual layer horsehide WITH the internal stiffener.

The obernauf's leather conditioner he sells works really good too.  After awhile the belt gets all scuffed up and scratched, but that stuff really brings it back to almost new.  I find really slathering it on with my bare hand and rubbing it in followed by a really really good buffing does magic.

I recently purchased a 1.5" wilderness instructors belt in their extra stiff CSM model.  Build quality is top notch, but the belt isn't as stiff or as thick as I had hoped.  Not to say it doesn't work or I'm not happy, I just need to get used to it more especially considering how thick and stiff my beltman is.  I do like that you can cinch it down exact and not get caught "between the holes" like a leather belt.  My beltman has 3/4" hole spacing too and I get caught in between.

ps - this thread is rife with double entendre... THATS WHAT SHE SAID!

I know this is double your budget but well worth the price. Only gun belt I have used so it's all I can recommend.

I have a wilderness tactical instructor in 1.5 inch 'Easy Fit'. I have the 5 stitch model. While the 5 stitch works well, and I have no complaints, I almost wish I would have gotten the added insert, for the SUPER stiff belt. But, it will still hold my jeans in an oval by itself on the floor, even fully loaded with my non-weapon EDC gear. I think the nylon belt looks fine with jeans, and works just as well with or without a weapon, and is not overly "tactical". As stated, there is no "between the hole" size. Get the perfect fit no matter what you are wearing. I fully recommend it. (I spent $56 shipped for my belt)

Just make sure you can get the best you can afford. It will last longer (actually saving money) and hold a weapon better.

I like this one a lot, but it is a little too expensive...I love the ones featured in the sig forum as posted above, but not in the black color. I'm going to order one of those in mahogany in a few months, but right now I am looking for black. I'd like to find one like this comp-tac, but for less $$..

Where might you get one of these and how much.  I am looking for a good belt for a couple pair of nylon zip-off pants that have a shitty belt that could never hold my Galco King Tuck.

Wow
Ive been using a 1.5 wilderness 5 stitch without insert for a few decades now
I find the belt without insert to be very stiff !

Are you sure you got a real Wilderness belt w/ insert?

First thing that came to mind is if the Wilderness with CSM wasn't stiff enough for you, you might consider getting one made out of rebar.
