| hey whats up everyone. i carry a glock 27 in a Desantis leather holster at the hip and i have a galco that sits in the small of my back. i am done with the small of the back cause it is not practical. now i try to use the desantis but in order for me to conceal it my shirt has to be pretty baggy. some of my clothes fits a little more snug than others. i am not talking about form fitting shirts but close. what kind of holster can you recommend that will fit my needs? i am also looking to purchase a glock 19 or m&p 9mm soon, so options for those weapons too!!! thanks guys |
| I've carried SOB and high-ride on the side. I have come to the conclusion that IWB is the way to go. I got an IWB holster for my Kahr K9 and I like the way it conceals the pistol in my pants. Short t-shirts are less of a problem. Only the grip is above the waistband. |

I carried my S&W M&Pc for about a year in a Crossbreed Supertuck and it would disappear. I kept it at about 8 o'clock on my hip (I'm a lefty) but if i were to bend over or reach up to grab something, my shirt would snag on the gun.
Currently I'm using a Raven Concealment holster and carrying at 9 o'clock and I don't have this problem. It sits up high enough that I can get a full grip on the gun before I draw. Not something I could do with my Supertuck. I've got it set up IWB right now but I wear it OWB during the colder months since I can cover it with a jacket. Only downside is it takes about 3 months to get one.

Mine is using using the c-clips from another holster, the wings from another, and some screws I had lying around, so it's pretty much a frankenholster. But Raven offers some options for setting it up for IWB. IWB options |

I never use it like that because my MTAC is just that much more comfortable. The Raven is for OWB only. |

Quoted: what do you think of the MTAC holster? MTAC is the only IWB holster I ever use. It needs a little bit of break-in, but I have gone through a lot of holsters and the MTAC is the best. I carry a full size P2000, usually at 3:00. My body is such that large shirts look like tents, but mediums are almost form-fitting. I adjusted my MTAC so that the grip fits at my waist, where my ribs go in, just before my love handles go out. It makes me look wider than I am, but there are no sharp edges to indicate I'm wearing a gun.

I don't recommend the Raven. The only time I wear it is when I want to have a gun at my hip, but my pants are too tight to allow IWB. And then, when wearing the Raven OWB, my shirt has to be even baggier. The clips they provide sell for IWB are extremely uncomfortable because they are made of kydex and do not bend with the body. IWB is from Garrity's Gunleather in Phoenix, AZ. Black Hills and Garrity's are small custom leather shops. Products are priced about the same as the mass produced stuff. I started buying custom leather about 10 years ago. |

Alot depends on your body style. I carry IWB at 3:00 and I didnt have to go with any larger shirt sizes or go with "baggy" clothing. I did have to stop wearing fitted T's but at almost 30 it was time to cut that out anyways.
Ruger SR9C in a Kholster (same as a supertuck) |
| I would look into the CTAC before the MTAC. The mtac will retain moisture as well as require two handed insertion of your gun. The ctac is all kydex so one handed operation is allowed (picking up shirt while drawing your weapon) maybe something to think about. Both are great quality and the same price, comp-tac is awesome. |
