| What is the quality of the current Century Arms VZ2008? What kind of receiver is it built on? What kind of barrel does it have? A plain steel barrel? Looking to get one from AIM. Thank for any input. |

I'll try to post a picture of mine in the next day or two. I have two that are from the current production. No manufacture is noted on the receiver, but the quality is very good. I have found that there is a bit of variance in the builds. but AIM is a very good vendor - if you do get a lemon they will help you out.

Mine from aim: green mountain so I've heard, which makes some pretty good barrels The receivers are from North Country Engineering, they seem to be a real 10-8 fabrication facility, they make them 2 ways investment casting and from bar stock. | Took mine to the range today - outstanding! It is setup with the same brake and wood stock as Spaxspore's and I love it. Very soft shoot and very little muzzle rise; the gun is very easy to reacquire a target. Not one single FTE, FTF, or any other problems. Let the guy next to me try out out after he was talking about buy an AK; you can guess what he is going to buy now. The only thing I would like is a lighter trigger. I am saving the second one I bought with the side-folder stock and might make that into a more modern setup with a red-dot at some point. For now make sure to get one of these or better yet two of them - they are that good! |

Centerfire has them for $499 w sling bayonet and cleaning kit. And you can buy 4 mags and a pouch for 74 bucks
They have folding stocks and bake lite fore arms Also they have vz58 parts kits with a folding stock or a bake lite or a wood stock...each are $299.99 and they come with a non cut bbl.. Good for spare parts |

I am definitely interested in these, I have become quite the fan of Czech pistols so this seems to be a natural extension of that interest...

| Love my 2008. Only taken it out once and shot 150 rds. 30/mag. Shoots great, no issues at all I see some complaints about the smaller grip but I like it. Very comfortable. I was gonna buy another but aim was out of stock so I ordered a vepr 12 instead. For the $499 price you can't go wrong. Gonna try to get another this next batch |
