For those that remove the muzzle thread protector from their as-delivered M92s, what do you do to protect the bare metal left from grinding the weld?

ETA:

Where to get the muzzle detent & spring?

Thanks.

I use a little touch up paint.

I use Formula 44/40 or G96 Instant Gun Blue, applied with a Q-tip. Works in seconds and looks perfect. There is a guy making the plunger pin/spring/retaining pin set for $20. He does a great job. I will look for a link.

I went the back-yard mechanic route and made one from an appropriately sized spring and the shank of a 5/32 drill bit.  It's retained by the brake.  Yes, it will fall out when the brake is removed, but I know to watch for it.  Works great, looks factory, and the spring and drill bit were free from my employer.

In the how to video I posted here a few days ago for installing the detent there's a link to the guy selling them in the description.  I can't get to youtube from work so I can't link it here but it's there..

Thanks everyone. Detent has been shipped.

Videos and informational threads have been very helpful. A month ago, I barely knew AK pistols existed. Now I get to tinker with my own.

This M92 is great. I was able to be on paper (12"x12") at 100yds. Love that fireball too.
