| In a couple weeks I'm going to put in my ATF forms to convert my DRACO to a SBR but also want to look into making it full auto. Does anyone have any ideas? |

You can't. You can only own full auto guns imported or made before the ban in '86.
The only exception would be to use the gun as a sear host. But I haven't seen a fa sear for an ak ever. They may not be available. And if they were, you're looking at an easy $20k for the sear, not including tax, transfer fees, and host gun. Az |

So, OP please don't even try, talk about or ask as to the "how too's" on making your AK fullauto. If you really want one save your change (for a long time) and buy one the legal way. |

Here is what you will need to do:
Obtain 1 DeLorean with working flux capacitor (check ee exchange, eBay or craig's list). Set time circuits to a date prior to May 19, 1986. Accelerate to EXACTLY 88.8 mph. Upon arrival to past prior to May 1986, submit paperwork to ATF. Reset time circuits to present and accelerate to 88.8 mph. Upon arrive back to present, CONFIRM that the paperwork was processed and that it was sucessfully registered BEFORE proceeding further. ETA: If you decide to go this route, I have a sports almanac i would like you to drop in the mail to me while there. |

Look into the Bumpski or Slidefire solution stocks. These bump fire stocks will effectively simulate full auto fire. This is really your only option without spending thousands on a registered AK receiver.
I really like the Bumpski, it appears pretty well made compared to the Slidefire solutions stock. |

If your going to sbr it. Just put one of the slidefire stocks on it and call it good. $350 vs $15000 (atleast) You can even still use an EG or romy side folding wire stock if you want a folder. |

Other than being illegal, FA is impractical.
Even the military doesn't use FA in a lot of stuff.... mostly 3 rd burst.. Semi auto allows aimed fire, which is a lot better than 30 rounds going downrange with only the first one going where you want it. I've had the fortune to run full auto on a rented gun.... I have to tell you.... it's expensive, and I can get more hits on semi, in the same amount of time, as I can with FA.... There's definitely a place for it, but IMHO, I'd take a semi over FA any day. |

I ended up selling off all of my full autos. Had a RR Colt M16, HK91 conversion and a 1919 Browning DLO conversion. While all fun and had a blast with all of them to no end. But, the funny thing was that I shot them semi (other than the 1919 which was FullAuto only) most of the time. I like keeping my shots placed well and wasted alot of ammo. Since the ammo cost came up the first thing I sold was the 1919. What a ammo whore..LOL a 250rd belt was gone before you knew it. I burned thousands & thousands of rounds out of that thing. I am not sad to have sold off my weapons and I am very happy with my suppressors & the semi AR's and STG's and my AK now. |

FA is just another tool in the box. In a sub gun, training is everything. It's amazing how fast you can tear a target up with a short burst. You just can't do it with SA, and if you've got something coming at you that ain't stopping you'll be glad you have the option. I read all this crap about not being able to hit targets, and it's so typical of the internet. I hate to tell all you "experts" out there, but with a little training my 18 yo daughter can hold her MP5 on target just fine. It just takes a little training and practice. Jeebus, you people act like once you pull the trigger all your ammo is gone and there's nothing you can do about it. Ever hear of controlled bursts?
Cover fire is also very, very useful. Especially against untrained individuals who aren't used to getting shot at. Even if you don't hit anything, you have effectively disrupted the enemies ability to hit anything. It scares the everloving shit out of most people. Tell me that can't be useful once in a while. One person can cover a whole group of people very effectively, and allow the other folks to move to better positions, flank the attackers, retreat, whatever. You won't think it's a waste of ammo if you're ever in that situation. For those of you who don't know, most of these weapons come with a switch. You can turn FA off when you don't need it. Like if ammo is scarce, you're just shooting at paper, or you're a cheap bastard. Az |

I didn't claim to be an "expert" What's so tuff keeping the 9mm MP5 on target without bursting it? It's easy.. Now, have your daughter hold down on a 91 in 308 and hit the target with all 20 rds @ 100 yds in FA and get back with me. Once you pull a trigger on any weapon....yes, that ammo is gone and gone for good. Semi, full or burst Don't worry, "if" the time comes when FA is ever needed I still have friends with legal FA weapons that will be handed out among our group like candy. They have switches? You talking about Selectors? I know lights have switches... Now, I will return to the "typical internet" for more laughs. Thanks for making my night. |

I have a hard time believing that someone who knows about the ATF's process to make an SBR, also thinks you can just turn it into a full-auto. ![]() I was thinking the same thing ![]() i dont like having smoke in, up or around my ass+2. Is this a set up? ATF sting? |

On another note, of the legal kind, I was wondering about a side-folding bumpski stock on my draco. Possible? Time Money Work its possible but its alot to get into. Looking at pictures of the stock, I can't see how you'd get it to fold and still be a functional bumpfire stock. |
