Pedersoli 20 gauge Howdah pistol. 80 grains of ffG with a 350 grain round ball on top. LOTS of flash and boom and sparks.
Bit of a wrist twister, too. Or you could fill up a 7.62x39 case with fffG or ffffG and top it off with a bullet. Make sure there's no air space in the case. Fill it up completely and let the bullet compress it. Or fill up a .500 S&W case with fffG, and cram a bullet on top of it. BP needs to be compressed some. Yer .500 will have a nice flash. Ya could use ffG or fG and the larger grain size will take longer to burn, therefore giving you more flash and burning bits out the muzzle. A slow burning powder combined with a light weight bullet should give you the flamethrower effect you seek. Slow burning powder will obviously bun longer, and the light bullet will leave the barrel sooner, giving you more post-muzzle burn time. I'm full of all sorts of useless information. BTW, my 18.5" Bbl Marlin .444 will put his AR to shame. It looks like it's shooting napalm when you use slow powders. |

For that matter, 27.5 grains of Vihtavuori N110 powder with a 180 grain XTP gives a most impressive flash and you can feel the bones in the front of your face vibrate from the blast, when shot out of my 4" Bbl Taurus .44 mag. |
