Well I looked at a few posts before I deceide to make a new one as I have both fail to eject and failure to feed. This gun is brand new only put 20 rnds through it. Ammo was wolf. Now it didn't do it all the time probably 5 out of the 20 rnds fired.

1- after the round was fired it would not eject out of the chamber and I would actually need to use a little assistance fromt he bench to pull the chargeing handle back to clear the case.

2- After a round was fired and when it did extract and pick up the next round sometimes the carrier would not close completly, so I would have to push the chargeing handle forward now sometimes it was a minor amount and others was a half inch. I didn't take much force to close it etheir.

Now I read that since it is new and rough that it would need to be broke in. Now come on it;s a dang AK it should run with a pound of dirt in it. Is there anything you guys can recomend doing to it to make it function properly or do I need to simpily go out and waste a couple hundred rounds through to brake it in?

send it back for warranty work. you paid good money for that and it should work without any issues.

I don't know where this hokey concept  of "breaking in" comes from, when it comes to functioning out of the box. but any new  gun should have no issues of feeding shooting and extracting, doesn't matter if it's a AK, or something else. it should shoot without any issues, if it doesn't,  it's workmanship.

No offense intended, but did you clean it thoroughly before shooting?

Non taken.

I did clean the barrel only to make sure there were no obstructions. Other than that the rifle looks like it has a film of oil on it. Again it's a ak it should run wet or dry.

I'll send it back only as a last resort. I've sent stuff back to them before and it took awhile to get stuff back.

I sent mine back for the same problem.. I think it went quick, it was just my local ffl who dicked around and delayed me about 2-3 weeks before I seen it agian.. It was worth it though as it works fine now..

something was binding pretty bad inside.. I dont think any amount of "break in" would have worked.. It was put together wrong I'd say

just for future reference, you don't need to have it sent back to a FFL.  for repair work, you can send a firearm  to the manufaturer/licenced gunsmith,  and they can send it straight  back to you, no need for a FFL at all.

Well I sent it in and less than 2 weeks later I get it back. So I ran out to run a few rounds through it and it functioned flawlessly. So whatever they did worked I just wish they would put what they did on the invoice.

Glad to hear they took care of you.  It really does seem like Century is very good about problems guns and getting them fixed/replaced.

listen guy you just can't take an ak outta the box with packing grease/oil and fire it without problems. when i got mine before i shot it i took the wood off and the whole gun apart and cleaned it with brake cleaner to get all the shit outta there. then i blew it off with my compresser then oiled it and greased the rails went to the range and shot 350rds of brown bear ammo and the weapon never missed a beat. 1,200rds later and still hasn't miss fired or ftf.

they most likley cleaned it the right way and sent it back to you. you cant shoot a weapon with all that packing grease/oil on/in it. sounds like a noob mistake.

Noob???!!! I don't think so!!!

I took it out of the box and made sure the weapon was clear of anything. There was no significant grease anywhere the first time and it still looks the same now that I got it back so they didn't clean a darn thing.

I'm willing to bet it had something to do with the chamber, I just wish I had paid closer attention to that area before I sent it in to see if that is what they did.

well i just bought a $1.400 sig sauer hand gun and before i shot it i cleaned the hell outta it. just because its an ak you still have to get all of that packing oil outta it before you shoot it.

You just bought a $1.40 Sig Wow either that was a great deal or it was a POS

He didn't have to clean a thing to get it to function properly. They are coated in a light film of grease that will not prohibit the function of the pistol. And like he said, the proof is in the pudding. If Century got it to function without cleaning it then the grease was not a problem. Telling someone they are a noob when you just signed up on the board is pretty stupid

I tried mine out of the box to didn't work. I cleaned it well and polished a few areas, then lghtly oiled it and low and behold it works fine. Nothing in chamber causes that, its burs and grease, MY .02  YA all could be right it's an AK pretty complicated piece..

Wow buddy, your pretty hardcore aren't you

You come in a tech forum and talk shit, that makes you a real smart cookie.

I have taken many weapons out of the box and not cleaned them, they fired just fine. This would include a NIB Mak90 that had more cosmo on it than any AK you have ever seen.

After reading your responses I wouldn't consider yourself a real shooter, more or less an internet warrior with a chip on his shoulder.

I am not sure we need someone like yourself coming into a tech forum and pushing your dirty mouth around.

Mine does the same thing... Its a magazine issue, as in, the magazine, when locked in, is just a bit too high in the rear. The bolt binds on it.

We tried about 10 different mags in the draco here... and then tried them in about 4 other AK models (MAK90, Nodak Spud, ect..). Function fine in the other AK's.. but the bolt binds up on the rear mag feed lips in the draco.

There's no reason for an AK to not run, dry or lubed.. dirty or clean. thats the whole point behind the design.

How would one correct that?

If one is not handy or a g'smith, I would send it back.

I would assume the fix is to removve just enough material from the top edge of the mag release, where it makes contaact with the back end of the magazine, to lower it the few thousands of an inch to allow the bolt to ride thru without hitting.

Honestly... if they are fast.. ship it back. I will... because if you modify it incorrectly, you just voided your warranty.
