A few pics of my new (to me) Egyptian RPD. It's a post sample reweld, by Crossfire.

A few questions-

Is there a belt loader or a trick to loading belts? These things are a bitch!

Any good manuals on the net?

Source for belts/drums?

What are some good spares to have?

4 drums for $145

Opperator and repair manuals about half way down this page

If I were you I would pick up a spare parts kit or two. Good luck with your RPD, I had a semi that was fantastic but I sold it to flip into a MAC11/9. Semi auto belt fed is fun, but machine guns are more fun

My belts are easy to load.  I have come across two types though.  One has a metal tab that folds down behind the round and those are a bitch to load by sliding in from the rear.  Best way to load those is to place the round on the link as it were loaded then just push down on it.

Interesting, looks like originally it was rarely used over 400 yards
