I am thinking about doing a one-up build on a Tantal kit, but have a few questions:

1. What is the barrel diameter at the front sight?
2. What thread pitch is the flash suppresor at?
3. Is it possible to re-chamber a barrel to 5.56?
4. Has anyone ever re-finished the stock upper/lower handguards with any of the infamous paint systems (dura-coat, etc.....)?
5. What is the barrel length without the flash suppresor?

1- dont know
2- 14mm LH
3- probably not
4- it would be possible, the lower HG can be replaced with a STD HG if you want
5- 16"

Here is a pic of a Tantal build on the prototype DCI receiver.

You should be able to convert to 5.56 with a barrel change. Pay attention to what may have to been done to the feed ramp.
