Removing the tantal stock is easy enough. What I am wondering is will any fixed stock option work? My assumption is I need a different rear trunion as well? Sorry very new to the am realm.

You can use stocks designed for AKM pattern rifles (Tantal is evolution of AKM, not AK-74 clone) without need to replace trunion.
