[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Tantal Handguard Issue

So my Interamrs Tantal has the handguard retainer lever loosening during firing sessions at the range. Anyone have any tips to help make this lever lock better so it doesn't loosen during routine firing?

I'm guessing from your description its the lever-style, and you're not referring to the screw type front....is the lever based on a screw? I'm not sure what you could do - but some Tantal nut on here will likely know. Other than that how do you like the Interarms build? Have a buddy considering one.

Ya its the lever not the screw. This rifle is very smooth and runs ten times better than my last AK. The only issue is the handguards wanted to come off after every mag. If I don't get the info here I will call Interarms tomorrow.

Calling Interarms would be best I think, I'm not sure what you could do...to save time you might want to try a local gunsmith. It might be as simple as replacing the pin that holds the lever in...but not sure...goodluck and let us know how it works out for ya.

I always wondered why the Poles went to the screw instead of the lever. Was this the issue in concern?

This is an issue with the lever loosening on its own during routine firing.
