I had one but it wouldn't fit in the gun without shaving off a bit from that lip on the backside...didn't want to do that, so i ended up getting bulgarian, only a few dollars more and they are reinforced with steel. But nice to hear that they work for you.

I bought about 10 of them, loaded them up, and then went to shoot. I tried to put in the 1st one and it didnt fit, neither did the others, so I had to use the file on my leatherman to make them fit. I finally got 3 of them filed down and they functioned flawlessly. I later used my dremel on the others and fixed them in about 15 minutes. Good mags. Too bad they dont fit right, but I guess you can always take off, but you cant add to them.

What he maybe trying to say, is that these mags do not come close to comparing to any non-US mags for the 5.45.    Yes they run fine after they have been filed down.  Would you trust a promag w/ your life??  Thats the question IMO.  This tantal mag thing doesnt mean much of anything imo.  A tantal polish mag's tab is smaller than, a bulgy circle 10.  So by mil spec they made the tabs a little bit smaller, but lets not forget about the material used throught the mag.  There is no steel re-enforcement anywhere

great mags to meet 922r and to look "cool", thats about it.

i have used the tantal pro mags in some of the toughest shooting comps in AZ and have never had to file them  or had a prob.

There are vids, for example from K-var, that vividly show how easy these Promag break from shock.  Many members here have complained about issues w/ their Promags.  Its a KNOWN issue that these mags WILL break when metal and/or steel re-enforced mags will not from the same stress.

A fitting issue is simple to fix and understand.  The "tantal" promags have a thinner lug, who cares......?.....  Your toughest comps are obviously not that tough if you havent broken a Promag  Why you would state this or even have this opinion is beyond me.

sorry, dont want to call ya out, but damn thats some

ACTS looks really fun, but sorry that does not look very TOUGH for equipment.  Test what gear? The conditions were very laid back and hell some of those vids were easy going.  I know that shooting on the go is difficult, but come on thats a cool comp shooting.  Are you telling me that you would trust your life w/ a Promag in your tantal?  Please dont take my word on this, bring it up in Tech Discussion or Magazines section.  If your serious about what your doing, and it looks like it, please realize that your handicapping yourself.  These mags are not for YOU, maybe someone that only target shoots or requires 922r compliance.

Off subject, sorry OP...  But Bigfatbulldog, its pretty cool that your using a Tantal in these comps.  I would love to see your setup and optics (if used).  I have been using a Krink for shooting like i saw in the ACTS vids.  Curious of your accuracy and make of your wz88.

Oops, i meant who built the tantal, (CAI, you, Interarms, lancaster, custom build)

Edit:  I was calling you out for the belief that you could trust these mags, especially in a comp

His vids hot linked:  vid1          vid2    vid3

Its amazing how those different shooting positions and running to new locations make its soo much more difficult.  I really like the pistol drills  Really wish the gulfcoast had something so well organized here.  Friends and i are using a 75yard range to run drills.  I finally got my T-1 and the game has changed  I can throw my krink up at 50yards and hit a head shot with ease.  I was able to do the same w/ my Tantal, but its much larger and heavier.  I really love the Aimpoint CompC3 w/ 2x mag, but  the T-1 is amazing.  Faster target accusation and accurate to boot.    Spend the money and cry once, but you will be satisfied.

Ultimak

Im using the M2-B optic rail and standard length lower.  I just hate the price of the lower  That tantal can pull off some very nice groups, for example i avg under 1inch @ 50 yards for my 5 shot groups(sandbagged).  When i said range, i was referring to a Safe 75 yrd shooting lane  We can run drills, but nothing as nice as ya'lls setup(thats still an under statement lol).  I watched the moving truck drill last night, that was kickass

Link to some of the little tests/fun we have had.  Ballistics  tantal was used in those tests.

I was actually the first one on this forum to use/report the use of the Promag 5.45 mags.  I have had Zero problems w/ the promag 5.45, but i do not trust them.  Hell, that thread was made a year ago this month.

O yeah, i would love to see some mag holders posted Well, you know for the AK..  Im not digging my vest atm.  I have a molle BP vest that is begging for some attention
