Hi,
I recently picked up a promag AK 74 mag for my polish tantal. I know I have to shave down the locking lug. do I trim down the top slanted side of the lug or the bottom flat side of the lug?

Always the bottom! When your trimming to perfection you will be able to tell where all the friction is.
