Hi JohnB, It moves with them. When the latch button on the oppisite side of the reciever is pushed in it lifts the two locking lugs on the part pictured out of the cuts on the rec. The piece then rotates 180 degrees with the stock and relocks into the reciever cuts. The inside shaft does not move as the assembly rotates on it. |
Ok...perhaps I'm not reading this clearly...the two locking lugs lift out; do *they* rotate with the stock? It looks like they are pinned to the shaft, and if the shaft does not turn, neither would the locking lugs (meaning, only the external stock assembly (the arms, the buttpad would rotate) Mainly I'm seeing if I need more clearance inside the receiver for the rotation of the locking lug piece.... |

The only thing that should pivot are the arms of the stock, otherwise everything else stays staionary. The "lugs" that engage the receiver do not rotate at all. I dont have my Polish UF in front of me to look at for referance, but from memory everything stays statonary 'cept for the arms. Oh... and be sure to lube everything well. And... if you are milling the holes yourself (you've probably already done so by now if you're asking teh questions you're asking), I wouldnt be afraid to mill the holes ever so slightly *smaller* that what is called for. Maybe even use you UF parts as a guide. The tighter you get the fit, the less of the infamous "wobble" you'll have and possibly you may even eliminate it. Very few try and correct the "wobble" until it is too late. If I ever build a UF of my own, I will do exactly as I have describes above. I hate "wobble" and fortuneatly for me, my Polish PMKMS has very minimal "wobble". |

Sorry JohnB, This is what I get for playing on the internet and watching the Orange Bowl at the same time.
