OK, I have built three AR's and love each and every one of them.  My 7-year old has used the CAR to kill three deer with (all one shot kills with no trailing required).  Now I want to build an AK.  I have seen receivers for $80-$100 and parts for $109 in the Shotgun News.  Is building an AK as easy as an AR?  I just want something I can leave in the truck for hogs, etc. and not worry too much about it.

Are there any suggestions on a cheep build and keeping accuracy to about 100 yards?

No, its not as easy as building an AR.  If you only want one, it's generally cheaper to buy one already made.

In addition to the receiver and the kit, you need 5 US made complance parts.  These will cost you about $60 or more.  Ideally, you'd also have the following tools: a rivet squisher, 12 ton press, drill press, shop vise, and a BFH.

Thanks for the info.  Yep not as easy as the AR.  Also appears not to be as well made as an AR by looking at the photos (Fit and finish).

Again thanks for the info and I will most likely find one already built.
