The Type-1 AK47, was the part the grip halves go over riveted to the receiver? The few times I've seen Type-1 AK grips it's just been the panels but some guy on Gunbroker has the panels and the metal part they go around and screw into each other over, isn't that part supposed to be riveted to the receiver? I'm admittedly not too familiar with pre-AKM AKs other than the fact they were milled receivers, or at least that's what I always thought. Can somebody school me on the "types" for the original AK47? Has anybody made a repro receiver of the very first type receiver?
