Are all century arms aks junk? Are they all WASR? I found one I am thinking about buying new for $520 bucks. See the pic. Anyway I have read the verbel beat downs about dremel tooling and so forth. I held an ak at a gun show just like the one I am considering buying and it seemed fine. Fit and finish was good! And it has mag dipples. I want an under folder for under $600 bucks would you buy the ak pictured with that cirtera or would you recommend another?hinking.gif Thanks ! This is the discription the seller gives: This is a military grade new gun. It comes with one 30 round mag. 7.62X39MM. Chromed barrel and bolt. Century Arms pics that I may buy below:(Can you tell what country it is from?) http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa170/jfaulk79/Cent_Arm1.jpg http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa170/jfaulk79/Cent_Arm2.jpg My current only child http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa170/jfaulk79/DSC01114.jpg |

It's a Yugo, The barrel and bolt is not chromed on these that I am aware of. Lots of people like them and $530 is about the right price. Compare on gunbroker.com Most importantly, make sure the seller will exchange/refund if something is wrong with the rifle. BSW BSW |

I have the same exact gun built by Century and am completley happy with it. Its very solid and very reliable.....I paid 540 for mine...worth every penny Also, the seller must be confused...the barrel is not chrome lined...unless it was replaced with a US barrel for some reason, if so than i might think twice about buying it. You better find out for sure. |

It's not a WASR...it's a Yugo M70AB2 Under Folder. Here are a few good things to look for: DC Industries Receiver Zastava Logo on the sight block Tapco USA G2 Trigger Be sure the front sight is NOT canted! (can be fixed but a big pain!) I have a Yugo with the fixed stock and I love it! It's one of the most robust AK variants out there! |
| I have the same one Yugo M70ab2 I paid $450 for mine and it doesn't have Zastava rear sight block because the newer yugos originally have Zastava on receiver instead. Not all of them have tapco triggers some have century crappy triggers. None of the Yugos are chrome lined the century guns have new green mountian barrels and as long as you use good ammo and keep clean, the chrome isnt as important. IMHO the Yugo is the best rifle century has ever built. |

It's a good rifle as it is.....but..... You could Prob get one that is "Zastava" marked, has the original wood, and a DCI receiver from the EE if you look long enough for around the same price. That receiver might be DCI and then marked "century" on the side....not sure. |

It an old saying but true..... "you get what you pay for" Will at Red Jacket builds some great guns www.redstick-firearms.com/firearms2/firearms.html |
| I have the fixed stock yugo m70 from century and it does have a canted front sight but still shoots to point of aim. I am well pleased with this rifle and it runs great. I plan on correcting the canted fsb but sinse it shoots poa I am not in a big rush. I have shot many century aks and only seen one that didnt work. That rifle needed a new triger group and it has been rockin ever since. |

Hello, Sorry to ask but i been reading this thread and also trying to figure out what this AK my cousine has is worth. My cousin just bought an ak and he said it says Century M70AB2, its also marked DC Industries on the receiver and its an underfolder with wood handguards. From what i read this is a Century "Polish underfolder style" AK. Is this correct and is this a decent AK. He paid $300 for it and asked me to find out if he got it at a good price becus he also didnt know much about the AK. I held it and it seems very solid and in great shape. thanks for helping me out guys. Oh by the way i didnt see any symbols by the sight!

An "actual" Yugo M70AB1 / M70AB2 rifle is pretty much a Zastava factory-direct rifle. These are builds - parts (barrel assembly, etc.) from an "actual" de-milled military rifle built on a new US-made receiver by Century.
There are other vendors and folks who have acquired Yugo parts kits and created rifle builds, as well. |
