| I am looking at one. It is a .223 and on the side it says "UZI America Inc North Haven CT Galil Sporter, Israel Military Industries IMI, Made in Israel." Does anyone know about this "Sporter" model? What sort of price range, quality, etc... |

Post '89 import, unless someone already changed it over, it would have a thumbhole stock and no flash suppressor. Same quality as the pre-89 imports, just less evil features. Ton of Galil info here: www.valmet-weapons.com |

It's a sporter, then it's a post-ban model. Still an original IMI receiver, so it's hard to tell if it was a converted postban rifle, or a parts gun. If the numbers match the rec, then it's a true IMI Sporter. Expect typical Galil quality and a somewhat discounted price (compared to other Galils). My best price guesstimate is $1800-2000, though I havent seen any sporters sell in the last couple years. |

Congrats. My only real advice is to make sure you are 922r compliant. A seller might just add the folder to help the sale, but try to figure out if the pistol grip and FCG are US made. FWIW, I think AZEX sells US made Galil flash hiders, so that can help on your parts count. We all expect a range report. Did you determine if it's a parts gun or a true sporter model? You are aware of the mag availability at DSA, right? Any other questions? |
