Recently traded for a Century Golani that has done nothing but give me fits. I can't get through a 12 round mag without a couple feeding type jams. The cartridge starts coming out of the mag then somehow the bolt slides over top and smashes into the cartridge near the shoulder. This occurs on first round loading then randomly throughout the mag.

I experimented with one 12 rounder by clipping coils since you could use them if your truck axle spring broke. Seemed to help but not a lot. The 35 mag loaded with 20 or 30 rounds will jam on the first one going in, shoot okay for 10-15 rounds then feed jam EVERY single round after that. I'm looking for the shipping box.

FWIW the serial number is in the 2600 range.

Almost forgot.....discovered the flash hider had unscrewed itself 1/2 to 3/4 the way off!!
Found this when I was packing it up today.

To prevent adding carpal tunnel to my other problems, here's a link to my adventures yesterday and today. Trying to get this info out to as many brains as I can in hopes someone can offer hope/help/anything. href=Link to Golani Story

Your link is dead.............

Century is pretty good about customer service but if you didn't get the rifle from a dealer I don't know if they can help, but it won't hurt to try.

Other than that it sounds like the mag.....How does it feed manually? if that is OK then it might be someting else like the gas tube or piston.  But I would try a different mag before freaking out.

Got link working again. I have 4 mags and results are the same. Centerfire says to contact Century which I will do. Hope they don't jack me up.

Century has really good customer service, I bought a jacked up RPK from them I had a new working rifle in less than 3 days.

The only problem I have ever had was dented casings, but I don't reload.

Sorry about this late update. Forgot about this thread.

I called Century and got referred to a "special number" for Galil problems. Talked to a gal there who obviously sounded like she didn't believe me and pretty much told me so. Long story short I did get a return authorization number.

After that conversation the Orlite mag from Numrich arrived. It works beautifully. No more jams while manual feeding and no jams during firing. The Orlite fits VERY snuggly in the mag well.

I'm seriously considering modifying the steel mags to tighten them up and hopefully operate as well as the Orlite.

So all is well at the moment. I like the rifle even more now that its not driving me nuts.

FWIW...my rifle is in the 3500 range and the steel mags fit very snug
with no wobble. I just ordered some Orlites. I hope they will be as
snug as the steel mags.
