My Golani sporter at the gas block, isnt flush with the gas tube, it has a very tiny stepup at the end. It doesnt seem to bind. But im just wondering if this is normal on galil's?

The gas tube is a tongue & grove setup rather than a latch found on the AK. When you strip the weapon you should be able to move it forward until it is over the step on the gas block.  If its not long enough with the dust cover installed, the rifle's gas block may not have been properly placed or the tube is out of spec.  From what I've read those are after market barrels without chrome.  Century would have to mount the block since they aren't military barrels.  I've heard backing the tube a bit isn't bad for accuracy as it allows the barrel to vibrate freely.
