Is there any real difference between any of the current offerings from the distributors that have these guns listed for sale?  Aim has them at a great price , SOG has them to but if you read there description it sounds better, but my question is are these all just really the same Century builds with different sales ads, or is there a better build ?

Thanks for any help.

I've purchased from AIM, AMCHAR and J&G, all were Century builds, all (4) were recalled and had to be sent to Century to be retrofitted. None of them worked 100% out of the box. I'm still waiting for 3 to come back from Century, the one that has already come back works 100%, but it had to be sent back twice.

They are all Century builds, but some of the distributors might have older models with bayo lugs (the newer ones don't).  Also, there's the recall issue, some of the older ones might not have the firing pin spring.

The main reason SOG has a better sounding ad is because they aren't afraid to lie.

Thanks for the replies, I have decided I want to get a Galil . AIM has a great sale going on now ,  I also understand that these are the Century guns . I have seen post here and other boards where people are happy with what they received recently. This is almost 1/2 the cost of the ORF rifle but I understand they do a really good build . Is it worth the extra money for the ORF rifle ? I believe that both rifles have the same receiver and barrel but I don't know about internals or Compliance parts , are these better in the ORF rifle ? My main concern is for the rifle to function , have a decent finish and there be no slop in the hand guard or stock while folded or extended . Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

I bought an ORF built Galil almost a year ago and I was able to compare it side by side with a Century Galil.  The ORF build was a lot better finished and the quality of the build was better.  It came home with me and I think it was worth the extra money.  Granted I have heard that a lot of the functioning issues have been taken care of on the Century rifles.  Also the price has gone down some on the Century builds.  The AIM Surplus deal for $700 is pretty sweet and I might be temped to roll the dice on that one.  If I had it to do over again, I would still shell out the extra money on the ORF rifle.  If I were to get a second Galil, I might try the Century.

Guys,
Yes our builds are more, our part costs are higher compared to Centurys is a main factor, other is time consumed in assembly.  We do not run these on a "assembly line" as they do, we build 5-20 rifles in a cal at a time, not 1000.  We do now have instock 223 rifles, 762x39, and 308s, up and coming 545x39.

I have an original MR import .308 Galil ARM, and it's utterly reliable and very accurate. I just had an SAR built by Dave Michener at Elite Firearms in 7.62x39 and it's as nice as the pre-ban. It's pricey compared to the Century and others, but you get what you pay for.
