This may fall under the category of canted front site. I took my Yugo out to the range yesterday with my site adjustement tool. To make a long story short, I have my front site adjusted all the way to the right and I am still hitting left at least six inches at 100yds. I noticed two drift pins in the front site assembly. If these are removed, can it be tilted back to the left?

I have seen similar question posted before. I cannot remember whether you or someone else posted it.

The front sight is always pushed in the direction that rifle shoots.
In your case, you must push the front sight to the left, not to the right.

I know this stuff, but damn it if I did not get myself turned around. If you want the poi to the right I need to move the front site to the left. Thanks for the refresher course in shooting 101. Damn I feel silly!

DON'T feel silly. I have seen online tutorials that got this bass-ackward. Note the "front view" illustratiuon here which is incorrect: www.gunsnet.net/Linx310/sightin.htm

I went out again last weekend and it seems I was doing it right after all. I guess I got turned around while writing the original post. So to start over again. I am still right of center and my site is all the way to the right. Can the front site be adjusted by other means or should I look for a rear site that has windage on it?

Okay, if your sight post is all the way right (which I see it is) and you're still hitting right of center ... you've probably got a canted front sight block. Yes, you could band-aid it with a windage adjustable rear sight, but I myself would be more inclined to just fix the cant.

Here's a tutorial, based on Romanian rifles ...

Also check to make sure that  your rear sight base is straight.  I had one AK where the rear sight base was crooked in relation to the receiver.  Easily fixed with a big rubber hammer.

I have an AK with a crooked rear sight base.  It doesn't seem to have much effect on accuracy, I just had to adjust the front sight a couple mm to the right.

How would I straighten it with a rubber mallet?  It seems like the rear sight base is pinned and riveted to the receiver.

You could also try an RPK adjustable rear sight.

I'll try fixing the front site as shown in the link you posted. I agree that a rear adjustable site is a bandaid and I'll try that as a last resort. I'll keep you guys updated
