I have a good Yugo fixed stock kit. All of the parts match. But there is no date on it. Many of you have shown where the date is supposed to be, but not on mine. My serial # is 70168, I am hoping that someone with a S/N close to mine has a date on their Yugo. Thanks, RTO |
Thanks Templar, that is quite a gap in s/n's. I wonder if they ran different sets of #'s for the fixed stocks and the folders? Based on your s/n this Yugo must be a few years older. Thanks again. |

RTO, I bought two Yugos, and one has the serial number and the year on the trunion, and the other does not. The one with the year is 112524, and the one without is C-58993. The one without has it electropenciled into the front of the receiver. From what I hear, the Yugos without the bulges do not have serial numbered trunions either. Looks like we may have a couple of the early RPK receiver Yugos. |
Doug, if yours doesn't have the bulges, then you are the lucky one. The one I have has the bulges and does have an electropenciling number on top of the trunnion. However there are no other stamped numbers on the trunnion. Someone on Gunco said that mine was made in July of 1982, I wish that I could remember the name so that I can give that person credit for their effort. rto |
Actually, mine does have the bulges. What I was attempting to say, was that I know the non-bulged trunion Yugos were early ones, and they supposedly did not have dated trunions. The bulged non-numbered, like yours and mine, were probably very early in bulged trunnion production. |
2Falable, that is a fine looking weapon. Was it krylon black (lol) or just grundge on the wood? Anyhow it looks like the wood cleaned up real nice. I think that you may have the lowest number posted with a standard receiver. |
That's the part I couldn't figure out about it, I think it might have just been grunge and oil and various nasties. ![]() I hit it with some finish remover and washed and steel wooled the hell out of it and came clean, then just rubbed an oil finish on it. Looks a lot better without the mysteriously black furniture. |
