Finally had the chance to shoot my M92 that has been SBR'd. Shot 4 different types of ammo (fmj, hp, steel, brass) out of 3 different types of magazines (yugo, magpul, tapco) and had FTE issues with all combinations of ammo and mags. Would run fine for 2-3 rounds, then FTE. Cant tell if its short stroking or what. Any ideas? Worthwhile to contact Century about it? Since its been modified (stock, rail, engraved) im not sure they'd even look at it. Or should i simply contact my local builder? I dont have the time, patience, or expertise to diagnose and resolve AK issues. Very frustrating bc I didnt think AKs were supposed to have reliability issues.

Is the extractor grabbing the casing? Is the ejector rounded or bent? Will it cycle with the dust cover off? Oh man. You guys are asking good questions. I am a little dumb when it comes to AKs and didn't even think to try without dust cover. I'll have to check out the extractor and ejector tonight. |

Correct. It has the factory trigger group from Zastava. Could trigger group be causing this? Quoted:

So it's not ejecting spent cases from the chamber? What trigger group is in the rifle? Correct. It has the factory trigger group from Zastava. Could trigger group be causing this? I don't mean to doubt you, but are you checking that it is an empty case left in the chamber and not just manually ejecting a loaded cartridge? The reason I ask is there is a known trigger reset issue with the factory trigger groups that results in a functionless trigger after ejecting the empty and cycling a loaded cartridge into the chamber. The reported frequency of the malfunction is consistent with what you described. Removing material from the hammer shelf or replacing the group altogether is the fix. Do a web search for "M92 trigger reset issue" for more info if this is indeed your problem. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Now, i do think the internals could go for a polishing to smooth things up. |
