I have had this gun for a few years and it never had any problems whatsoever. The last time I had it out, which by the way was to show a friend how reliable it was, the trigger would not reset. It would fire a round and successfully eject and chamber the next round but the trigger would either be very slow to reset or be totally stuck in the rearward position. I would have to take out the mag, clear the chamber, remove the dust cover and manually manipulate the trigger from inside. I cant see anything obviously wrong and was hoping the forum could help. Thanks in advance for any suggestions, Brian.                                                                                           .          .

Well, the first thing I would check would be to see if the trigger axis pin is dry and/or corroded.

Spray some penetrating oil onto the pin/trigger and work it for a while to see if it frees up.

Pull the pin and trigger out and see if there is some kind of interference going on there.

Make sure your pistol grip is not touching the trigger.

If this is the case, just slightly re-profile the grip leading top edge.

I see that all the springs look to be in the right place.    The small spring on your trigger reset is a common failure as it doesn't have much strength.   It's the only spring that is single strand (not braided) like the main unit that sits on the bottom of the receiver.   Pull this spring off with a small screwdriver, there isn't much tension., blast the entire trigger group with a spray cleaner, then follow up with lube that doesn't leave behind a lot of residue like frog lube, or EWL.   For functioning purposes try the old function test.    Charge the rifle, dry fire..keep the trigger compressed.  Rack the action again and release.  Repeat.   If the trigger continues to not reset after checking the function, you may have a broken, or misaligned pin, or one of the springs have given up the ghost.

If one of the pins is the culprit...be it bent, or misaligned, it's an easy fix with a replacement trigger group.  Whenever I have a failure in the AK's, i always go ahead and replace the whole thing.

Hope this helps.
