I have a Pre89 Yugo, Mitchell Arms import, and wondering why the receiver number and the other numbers don't match.  The sight leaf, trunion, bolt,etc.. all match.  Just has a different number than the receiver.  Does anyone know why this is.  Here is some eye candy.

It was never a complete rifle until it was put together here in the US. Patrick Sweeney of Guns and Ammo quotes in his book AK-47 and SKS:

Non-Matching-
Look out, This could mean anything from the wood is non spec to to every single part came from spare-parts bins, bins filled with scrapped out rifles (AK-47 and SKS, 2008).

Okay, here is the thing though... my Yugo M70 is all non matching and works just fine. Matching parts with matching serial numbers only really serve to satisfy gun "purists" who want their rifle to look as if it was ripped out of commie hands on the battle field. 98% of the time these rifles function flawlessly. If you consider yourself a collector, Marc Krebs custom builds these commie replica "safe queens" including false rivits on the reciever that mimic a fully automatic rifle, but at about five times the cost. I just like to target shoot with mine.

Beautiful gun. Its not going to match, none of my pre89 Yugos do either. Those are just inspectors marks, no big deal.

Not a factor on this rifle as this is a real Yugoslavian made AK47 and not a kit gun.

OT, but did any of the pre-ban Mitchell's have the grenade sight/cutoff on them?  I am guessing no.

Thanks for the info.  The quality on these Yugo's are amazing.

Fantastic!

Does this have the Zastava markings on the left side of the RSB?
