Its ok. You don't need to take the spring off. Its kind of a pain in the ass but the buffer will go over the spring.

that guy went through alot of work for nothing.all you do is slide the buffer over the spring.you do not have to take anything apart.aks do not need a buffer, but i like them because it knocks the recoil down alttle.

Buffers?

Why?

They seem to have the main purpose of separating you from your cash.

I bought a MAK90 once that had one installed and the 1st thing I did when I got home was take that thing off and chuck it. I've even heard some stories on here of FTF/FTE because they had a buffer installed. YMMV though but I say no

So the buffer does not prevent any damage?

With some home bent receivers, if the rear of the top rail is cut too short, and the bolt carrier keeps jumping off the rails, a buffer can help with that problem.

Better not to buy FUBAR  receivers than to band-aid the problem.

Ironically, the only AK receiver i've ever seen with the cutout made too large was not a home build. It was a poorly made 100% receiver.
We solved the problem with an AK Builder flat.
