Hello,  Just got back from the range where I was function testing a new yugo uf and a fixed stock.  Fixed stock worked great.  UF started having problems after about 50 rounds.  When it was working ejection seemed weak.  At about 0200 and only 5 to 10 feet.  The fired round would eject but the round being feed would get hung up at an odd angle.  The tip would be touching the top of the chamber but the bolt was stopped.  The ammo was wolf black box fmj.  Tried several different mags with the same result.  The gun is a century build on a "Global Machine & Tool" reciever and was cleaned prior to shooting.  Any ideals?  Thanks.

They are supposed to replace both, not fix...hopeing for DCI/NDS receivers.

Good luck.......Kevin

This is great..now i'm going to have to check the 2 Yugo's i have in layaway and see which receivers they have..I think they had DCI but not sure. Sounds like the Global receivers are out of spec or something

edit....at least Century is standing behind their work and will fix the problems

My fixed stock did the same thing the mag catch is too low and won't feed unless I full the magazine up and back. I don't trust Century at least for now to fix it right so I bough a couple of extra mags and added some JB Weld the the bottom of their mag catches and it works like a champ for now at least. It's only a temporary solution I know but I'm not sure I trust Century to fix something this simple. My receiver is a DCI by the way.

Ok, so the Gobal receivers might be good enough. They might not of properly installed the mag catch.

Heck, if it's under warranty, i'd still make them fix it.

Honestly I don't trust them to fix something this simple without them screwing something else up. Sadly Century guns are all crapshoots and it's always let the buyer beware with their products if you get a good one great if you get a bad one God help you. If they in many case would just take 5 minutes and actually test fire their products or in my case put 5 rounds in a mag and hand cycle it many of the problems would be caught before the guns even left the Century factory and their rep would be better. I had a Century Fal that was a total POS after $550.00 for the gun and another $250.00-$300.00 in new parts and I have no idea how many hours of labor and rounds of ammo to try and get it to work I finally gave up and let it become someone elses headache.

I know exactly what you mean.  I thank God my Yugos have been problem free because the last thing I would want to do is send them back to the Century monkeys.  Sad but true.

Yep I hated to buy a couple of extra mags but as long as it works I don't care. But Century isn't the only one that has problems. I've been following the problems and the recall notice of the Ruger SR-9 and also LCP on another forums website. I'm glad I bought my XD-9 instead of the Ruger SR. Sadly Made in the USA doesn't mean what it used to.

Well, the rifle is off to century.  Hope I get a smart monkey.

How can you tell what kind of reciver your Century gun was built on ?

The reciever mfg should be printed on the reciever.  Mine was on the left side towards the rear (above the trigger).

My fixed stock had the same issue when I first got it. The Magazine latch is too short. I replaced mine with one from Numrich. I got it a little cheaper 6 months ago then they have listed now... but I guess everything has gone up.

Easy fix, and will solve all your feeding issues. I wouldn't send it back to Century, they'll send it back with more problems. By it is all said and over with, you'll be 2 months into the future before you ever see your rifle again (maybe).

If it was a $1500 AR-15, I'd say send it back. It's a $500 AK, I say fix it yourself.

I received the 2 Yugo replacements today and both had the same Global M&T receiver, and both WORK!!!!!

90 rounds through each one without a problem.

If you have a problem and they transfer you to the warehouse, or just ask for Marsha, she took care of everything, she was great. I am sending a MO to Atlantic tomorrow for a Tantel...I don't want to chance it again.

Happiness is a warm and WORKING gun!!!!!

How hard is it to replace the catch? Are the rivets reusable and is a special tool required?

Thanks.

+1 on that question. The JB Weld on the mag trick is only a temp solution for me but I don't want to send it back to CAI for fear of what they might do to my newly refinished rifle but paying a gunsmith to do it seems overkill on an AK.

Well, I finaly got it back today but have not had a chance to shot it.  Big fiasco with UPS.  They delivered it to another house on Friday with the same number but on a differnt street.  It was signed for by an older Aisian gentelman who does not speak english.  UPS did get it back and deliver it at my convience today (they did address the mistake very well).  I was very worried to say the least.  As for the gun looks like they did work on the gas block based on the scuff marks.  I plan to call Century tommorow and find out what they did.  Let's hope it works as I do not want to do this again.

If you have to send out the rifle for warranty repairs, do you have to have it shipped to a FFL when its done?  I've never sent a gun out for repairs or warranty stuff.

I need to check out that LCP recall and see what its about. I also need to go ahead and shoot my Yugo UF since its on a Global receiver. Dangit.. My other two Centurys are straight shooting right out of the box, hope I get a trifecta.

If the rifle is already registered to you, they can ship it directly back to you.  No FFL involvement required on repairs.

Called Century today to find out what they did.  They replaced the gas valve and fired a full mag to verify function.
