My nephew is a Army Lt over there right now. It pretty much jibed with what he told us about when he was home before Thanksgiving. I found it interesting. Everything old is new!

240B is old-become new (1958 design, but relatively new to the US Army)... M1919 crossed with a FAL = best .30cal MG made...
The Marines are unique with their .45s... Rumors of universal USP45 adoption continue to circulate... Army is replacing the '24 with a new gun from Knights... So that'll be 4 AR-pattern weapons systems in service... Folks will still dig M14s out of the armory untill someone wises up & puts a purpose-built DMR (AR10A4, anyone?) in service though.... Or untill all the '14s are cut up... And the M16 will continue to be dogged by jam complaints... |
