Anyone see that Big 5 Sporting Goods has SKS rifles for $349.99?  Seems alittle high, but if you're having problems finding one it is a source.  I'm going down to day to at least get a look.

The one on the rack was really nice and clean.  But, man that seems like a high price.

What manner of SKS rifles?

Chinese?

Yugo?  59/66 or M59?

He is speaking of the Yugo 59/66. They are in decent shape, but not worth the price they are asking.

You are correct, sir.

Way over priced.

The ones Big 5 sells here in WA are the 59/66's with the uber gay Kalifornia muzzle brake welded on instead of original greanade launcher.

SKS's are getting harder to find.

This is why I posted it.  I'm not in the market for another one, but I know some are and may have to pay a higher price to get what they want.

These same ones have made their way to Oregon too, and yes the Kali muzzle brake is ghey.

Actually the "California" brake (as labeled by the simple minded) doesn't look to bad I don't think... and yes they are considerably over priced.

Not sure I would call us C&R collectors simple minded, rather we like things in their original config. and not altered for some state regs.

Big 5 is probably my favorite store of all time, right next to Sportman's Warehouse (and not just for guns either). That's where I bought mine at. Think I paid $250 OTD for it about six years ago. It came with a log book, matching serial numbers, cleaning kit, and it only had 65 rounds shot down the tube. It cleaned up real nice; one of my favorite shooters. Big 5 comes across some interesting C&R rifles once in a while. They had some M1 Garands and M1 carbines going on for a while, along with Mossin Nagants and Yugo Mausers and Swedish "K"s. Good selection of shotguns too. Whatever you do, always wait for the sale price. The sales manager at the one by my house is a real nice guy.

Edit: The paragraph above is a little off topic. The way I see it, even at $350, you're still getting a lot of rifle at that price (pending overall condition of course). Granted it's not as cheap as they were available when there was a flood of them a few years ago, but still relatively cheap for a milled receiver 7.62X39 semi auto battle rifle.
