Here's a pic, of my two SKS....1 Chinese, and 1 Russian...

The Russian is un-fired...I shoot the Type56 all the time..I paid $125 and $145  about 20yrs ago for them....I should have bought more!

Nice rifles. Not as a big of a fan of the painted Russian SKS, but I love all SKS's.

He might have been paying 70$ more. Still, I consider that quite cheap.

If you had bought $270 (about 1 oz.) worth of gold 20 years ago, you would have $1300 today.

I'm not an expert but from what I read, in all likelihood your Russian is an arsenal refurb and has been shot.

What cost $145 in 1990 would cost $235.01 in 2009.

Not bad at all.

The Russian pictured is a refurb due to the black paint finish/black bolt and laminate wood. Nice rifle regardless...shoot it, it's definitely been fired before.

Do all Russians have the bolt through the stock at the rear?  Is this a way to tell it is a Russian?
