| Saw lots of SKS' today at the Wichita Gun Show. Looks like everything was from $350 to about $450. |

The M59's were all rearsenaled, so there aren't any actual new ones. There might be a few floating around that are in cosmoline and excellent condition though, but very few. If you can find one that is all matching (here is a link to what matching means for a Yugo M59 - http://www.sksboards.com/smf/index.php?topic=70430.0), and the bore/overall condition is very good plus, then $450 would be at the top end for value. Average condition M59's are not plentiful, but they are going for $275 to $325 on Gunbroker. Note: The post that I made above about the $650 SKS at the gunshow is a very rare variant of the Navy Arms imports. It's a fully accessorized Farmer's Friend, unfired with storage box and paperwork. Less than 1000 were made, so I saw it and snagged it. Some of these have sold for over $1000 in the past few years. |

Is $450 high for a BNIB Yugo M59 (not M59/66)??? Mind you I am in the PRK so the M59/66's with GL's are verboten The M59 is one of my favorite variants. They are MCUH more uncommon than the 59/66 model (which I hardly care for). And, they are on par with Russian SKS' as far as quality. I believe less than 8,000 were imported into the US $450. is high though, at least in my area. I'd consider paying $350. for an all-matching one in excellent condition. |

I was kinda wondering about that $650! Always good to learn something new and would love to see more pics of that particular SKS please! |

Wow $650? Not too many years ago, local gun shows had Yugos going for $100.00. They were still covered in cosmoline but that was a steal of deal gun show price. Got my matching Norinco for $150 and my matching Russian right under $200.00. For the price, these a great "truck guns" or ranch rifles. But, it is one thing to like/collect the SKS but its another story to pay that much today. Might as well fork out a bit more and get an AK, at that rate. |

Compared to the $900 to $1,100 ones that have sold in the past few years when these collectibles do surface on the market (and that's rarely!), the $650 was an absolute steal. Not your run-of-the-mill Simonov. I'm tickled pink! Oh, and I have my share of $150 - $250 SKS's and AK's as well - they're just not collectibles. |
