ok went to the pawn shop today and saw a yugo sks by cai for $300 + tax and a made in china norinco sks for $ 289 + tax. the yugo looks like it brand new still got all the heavy cosmoline on it. it is complete with the granade launcher bayonet. on the other hand the norinco dont have the rod and the bayonet. which one should i go for?

I have one of each. I'd go with the Yugo. I wound up doing a truly hideous Bubba job on the Norinco

I'll agree, get the Yugoslavian M59/66 with the cosmo on it. Check to see if the serial numbers match, although not a big deal if they don't. Great rifles.
